WELCOME TO The LIVING COMMUNITY OF PULAU UBIN!
NEED ANOTHER REASON TO VISIT PULAU UBIN? HANG OUT AT THE ISLAND, ENJOY THE GREAT OUTDOORS AND EXPERIENCE KAMPUNG LIVING.
You can enjoy a tranquil view of the sunset from the Living Fisher Village. Once you arrive, you will receive nature's invitation to play outdoors. This is truly an opportunity for city-dwellers to re-live the kampung lifestyle!
1. the first living VILLAGE of Ubinites.
Living Fisher Village offers visitors an interesting insight into the life of residents in Pulau Ubin, originally named for its granite, batu jubin.
Re-live the good old days and form the new with us: collect water from the well, chill on a hammock overlooking the sea, and enjoy the flora and fauna with friends. Kayak and explore the mangroves, interact with Ubin villagers, take some selfies on our mural art, or learn to cook as the villagers do.
[Follow us on our official Facebook page, Sea Angel, for regular updates!]
2. Live DEMONSTRATION by Ubinites - Up Close & PersonaL.
Enjoy a walk with Ubinites and experience their culture, up close and personal. Meet our key residents - fish & prawn farmers, boat operators, restaurant owners... They will invite you to their premises, demonstrate their knowledge and describe their lifestyle with great dedication.
Highlights include visit to the fish farm (learn how farmers raise fishes and their challenges), buy fresh seafood from fishermen directly on Weekend Catch, workshop on urban farming, guided wildlife walking tour and cooking demo of traditional dishes. All programs here are interactive, for visitors to dive into another world and another time.
3. get in touch with The wilderness
Living Fisher Village is ideal for visitors who want to watch an unblocked view of sunset, gather around the campfire to share stories, stargaze, develop bushcraft skills, take a night boat tour and spot unique nocturnal wildlife (i.e. buffy fish-owl) during our night walks.
Contact us to help you organise and participate in our outdoor activities before your arrival.
During Pesta Ubin 2017, Pulau Ubin resident Uncle Ah Kok and his family have kindly hosted Sea Angel's Living Fisher Village (LFV) activities/events at their premise. With the conclusion of Pesta Ubin, LFV events and activities will now spring off from Phillip Lim's kelong instead.
Thank you Uncle Ah Kok for 10 great weeks! - Here's a short video of LFV, guest hosted at Uncle Ah Kok's home during Pesta Ubin 2017.
